Pits and paddock
Formula 5000s. The premier historic racing class in NZ. A 1970s low-cost alternative to Formula 1, these things are seriously fast, and in there day were heavily contested as many of the F1 drivers came south for the off season. And !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Historic Muscle Cars and Saloons. Big bangers share the track with wee Alfas better than you might think - Hampton's a handling circuit with only one decent straight, and the speed differentials don't get too far out of control
Heritage Touring Cars: Group 2,5,A,C & N. Note the BMW 635 Art Car replica - all hand painted by the owner
Spec E30s. can't get away from them, they're everywhere. Make for some tight racing though.
Pre 78 Sports Cars. With some Invitational ringers: that green Aston Zagato is an '86, for example. It deserves the invite though - as if Zagatos aren't rare enough, this is one of only two delivered by the factory as race-spec vehicles with 7 litre V8s. Pig ugly sucker though - what is it with Zagato?

Formula Junior & F3. That red Elfin is in the "drum brake" subclass - scary, even in a car that weighs nothing.

Wouldn't be a major NZ event without at least one CanAm MacLaren
Bus racing: BMW850 V12. Just finished in time for the meet, and smoking something horrible.
Gulf Porsches - collect the whole set.
Zoomies FTW! Never heard or saw it running, but it's awesome anyway.
So very green. So very V8. So very sideways.
Did I mention I love me some Jag?
..for that matter, did I mention E30s get everywhere?

It's a pretty car, but Man that's a lot of ass.
Never seen one in the wild before: Alpine A110. Nice Reliant in the background, too.
Never seen one anywhere: Marcos. I think all those asymmetric bonnet lumps make it a Mantula.
Forty years of British muscle: TVR Chimaera and Mk1 Jag
Forty years of British delicacy: Lotii.
...and last but not least, number plate of the day. Brave man bringing a Lambo to a Fezzafest, too.
